November 13, 2009, Newsletter Issue #191: Online Business Degree Program Concentration Descriptions

Tip of the Week

Deciding to complete an online business degree program involves decision-making. It's important to understand the various concentrations available, what they entail, and what type of employment you could get with each. The following is a sample of online business programs offered by one prominent college in the United States, although all of the best graduate business schools will offer these as well:

BS in Business / Human Resource Management Graduates find employment in recruitment and selection, performance evaluation, compensation and benefits, job design, training, retention and turnover.

BS in Business / Marketing Graduates find employment in public relations, as communication specialists, marketing managers, communication coordinators, etc.

PhD in Organization and Management (*The doctoral degree is the highest academic credential it is possible to earn) Graduates find employment as directors, team leaders, executive managers, etc.

Of course, you can’t jump into a Bachelor of Science Degree, or a PhD unless you meet the educational requirements. By the time you’re ready for an online business degree program, you should already have several years of education under your belt.
